James is responsible for driving growth and business development in hydrogen at bp. He is driven by the opportunity to reshape the global energy sector with concrete projects contributing to bp’s net zero ambitions, starting with low carbon hydrogen infrastructure projects in North-West Europe.

James joined bp in 2021, after two years leading acquisitions and investments in ENGIE’s green hydrogen business unit based in Paris. Prior to this he spent most of his career at Macquarie Group, more recently leading transactions in various commodities sectors in the US and Europe
