Maaike Zwart (35) has been alderman for the Municipality of Delft since June 2022. She studied Architecture at Delft University of Technology (TU). Since then, she has worked on various studies in the field of economics, urban development and water management. She did this both in The Netherlands, among others at economic consultancy Ecorys, as well as numerous positions abroad, among others at an internship at the United Nations in New York. Before returning to Delft, she worked for the Municipality of Amsterdam as a manager in the field of sustainable area development. Maaike especially admires the way in which Delft cherishes its unique history and at the same time is building a vibrant city, one that is ready for a sustainable future. “Together with the city, I am committed to taking significant steps towards a climate neutral Delft in 2050.”
