Nicola as the Director, Hydrogen and New Energies Division is leading the implementation of the Western Australian Government Renewable Hydrogen Strategy to support Hydrogen Industry development in Western Australia. This involves collaborating with government, industry and academia in Australia and globally on key policy and initiatives to support hydrogen demand and projects, supply chain de-risking and international market engagement and partnerships. Nicola McFarlane has over 20 years’ experience working in engineering and risk management in the energy and oil & gas industry both in Australia and in the UK and more recently in supporting the energy transition. In her previous role, Nicola as a principal engineer and project manager in Energy Transition and Decarbonisation, was involved in managing key hydrogen related strategy and risk advisory projects in Australia. Nicola has a First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Australia.
