Matthew Manning currently serves as an advisor for the Office of International Market Development at the Department of Energy. In this work, he focuses on global hydrogen deployment, industrial decarbonization, and solar markets.

In his eight years with the US government, Matt has advised DOE leadership on domestic nuclear energy, cybersecurity and energy development. He also served as an energy advisor to the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia and covered international energy markets at the Energy Information Administration. Matt’s prior executive branch experience includes working on offshore energy issues, such as oil spill prevention and offshore wind development, at the U.S. Department of Interior. He holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University.
