Alison Conboy is Deputy Director for Hydrogen Production at the UK’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. In this role, she oversees the UK’s hydrogen production strategy, the UK’s Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard and Certification Scheme, and investment into UK hydrogen infrastructure. She’s also responsible for the design and delivery of the £240m Net Zero Hydrogen Fund. Alison has been a civil servant since 2009, holding a variety of climate and energy policy roles including Electricity Market Reform, overseeing the UK’s carbon budgets, and as a climate and energy attaché at the British Embassy in Washington. Alison’s background is in science, and before joining the government she curated exhibitions at the UK’s national Science Museum, after studying at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.
