Mr KALACHE holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Physics from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (Algiers), and a PhD from the Ecole Polytechnique in the field of materials physics for solar energy.
After a background in research in renewable energies as a research Associate, Mr KALACHE joined SONATRACH, the Algerian national oil and gas company, and pursued a career of more 17 years, over which he held various management positions including Renewable Energies Group Manager, Knowledge Management Head Department, Senior Executive at the Petrochemicals Corporate Branch, and Senior Executive at the Strategy, Planning and Economics Corporate Direction.
Mr KALACHE currently holds the position of Renewable Energies Director at the New Resources Department of SONATRACH where he is in charge of the development of energy transition projects with a main focus on green hydrogen and derivatives, especially devoted for export whether by shipping or by pipeline.
Mr KALACHE is an active member of committees and working groups dealing with legal, regulatory, technical issues, to advocate for green hydrogen economy.
