Dean Comand is a skilled and experienced executive with
a talent for creating effective business strategies that
prioritize operational excellence and organizational vision.
He is known as a dynamic and visionary leader who is
skilled in governance, operations, development,
engineering and product execution.
Dean has worked in a number of sectors including natural
resources, energy, heavy manufacturing, utilities,
telecommunications and resource recovery in various
roles, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operation
Officer, and Chief Internal Auditor, for both private and
public companies.
Some of the companies he has worked for include
Hamilton Utilities Corporation, Algonquin Power & Utilities,
Sherritt International, Stelco, Nextsource Materials, and
most recently Hydrostor Inc.
Over the course of his career, Dean has successfully
deployed an aggregate of US$10 billion of capital and
has led a variety of teams up to 10,000 personnel.
Dean Comand is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng),
a Certified Engineering Technologies (CET), and holds a
Chartered Director (CDIR) from McMaster University.
