Douglas van der Wiel started his long-established career with the Oiltanking Group in 2001.
From 2001 until 2019, Douglas held several commercial and management roles in the South East Asia and the Middle East region. In 2009 he served as Chief Executive Officer at Star Energy Oiltanking in Jebel Ali, Dubai; and in 2015 he was appointed Managing Director of Singapore as well as President for Asia Pacific; in 2020 Douglas was appointed Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa..
Within Advario, Douglas is a member of the Leadership Team and currently serves as the Chief Growth Officer. In line with the organisation’s strategic direction Douglas, in his role as CGO, focusses on ambitiously growing the business globally primarily in chemicals, gases and low carbon/sustainable energy.
Douglas graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1998. He studied Business Administration and holds a Master Degree in Science. His graduation subject is Finance.
