Dr. King is the founder and CEO of Integrative Nanotech, a Halifax-based company developing the next generation high-performance, cost-effective hydrogen sensors. The nanomaterials-enabled sensors aim to provide significant improvements to both long-term reliability and safety standards within leak detection systems in critical applications (such as in transportation). Prior to founding Integrative Nanotech in 2022, Dr. King worked as a researcher and project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST, before leading sensor development in their CVD group. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the Technische Universität Braunschweig (Germany), as well as a Master of Applied Science and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University (Canada).
