Ipeleng Selele is a qualified International Strategist in Cleaner Energy, Green Hydrogen Mobility, Maritime, Market Expansion and Entry. She is an entrepreneur with interests in Energy, Business and Foreign Market Entry Strategy Consultancy, Digital Technology, Rail Transport, SMME’s and Maritime Transport/Ports Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, LPG, CNG and LNG distribution, energy infrastructure, autogas, rail transport and engineering, shipping, strategic consulting services, maritime ports training, AI-Innovation and digitalization.

She has worked on projects in South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon, Mozambique, DRC, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, Ghana, Rwanda, Nigeria, Angola, Singapore, Europe and the UK.

She also has a solid and hands on experience in the energy knowledge economy, alternative energy solutions in the communities for easy access to gas/cleaner energy. She contributed towards the Africa’s maritime annexure plan for maritime and women in maritime at the African Union in relation to Africa Integrated Maritime Strategy 2050 execution plan. She also conceptualized and launched the first ever portal of African Maritime Affairs that was launched at the African Union.

Ipeleng has been involved in gas market studies both in Richards Bay and Mossel Bay. The Richards Bay Market Study explored the Midstream and Downstream business within the LPG sector whilst the Mossel Bay Market Study aimed at getting the area market ready following the Luiperd and Brulpadda gas discoveries. Both the studies were inclusive, they included SMME’s, women owned businesses, Chamber of Commerce, youth, community leaders and other integral stakeholders. The studies also looked at the pricing dynamics and the socio-economic benefits of LPG.

In particular, Mrs. Selele continues to play a pivotal role in driving the cleaner energy, energy infrastructure, gas market studies, African Ports and Maritime development agenda. She was instrumental in conceptualizing and implementing the BRICS Maritime Investment Forum Content & Execution in 2013 Summit which was held in Durban; South Africa focusing on the Maritime agenda. She championed the BRICS Maritime Trade business seminar aimed at leveraging the BRICS partnership with an objective of developing Africa s maritime trade and attracting investment into the maritime industry. She spearheaded the conceptualization/owns and implemented the immensely successful inaugural Africa Maritime Investments Indaba 2013.

Ipeleng Selele holds an MSC (Master of Science) in International Strategy majoring in Foreign Market Entry Strategy from the University of London South Bank. She completed an African Leadership Executive Course from Oxford University as part of her TUTU Fellowship as well as a Strategy Execution Qualification from INSEAD, France. She completed a port training executive training in Singapore. She is the Vice President of the Africa-Southeast Asia Chamber of Commerce based in Singapore. She is passionate about entrepreneurship development on the continent. She is the Vice President of African Women in Maritime. and the Chairperson of Women in Maritime in SA. She serves on the BRICS business council infrastructure working committee. She is completing her (MBA) in Oil and Gas in the UK in 2023 as well as a Post Graduate in Mechanics of Renewable Energy with University of Middlesex in the UK. Ipeleng serves on the Telkom, Siemens Energy SA, Mahlako Energy Fund and Satsanga Fintech boards. Ipeleng was awarded the African Industry Personality of the Year Award-2020.
