Paul MacLean is the Managing Director of Bear Head Energy. Paul has more than 20 years of experience in the energy and environmental sectors. Previously, he led the regulatory and community engagement efforts for Bear Head LNG. In 2021, he reacquired the project from its previous owner and returned to the project to lead its transition to becoming a producer of green hydrogen and ammonia.
Paul has held senior advisory roles in the development, financing and acquisition of businesses in the natural gas and liquefied natural gas sectors. He has acted as a Senior Advisor to Access Northeast Energy Incorporated, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and LNG Limited.
From 1990 to 1998 Paul was a consultant to the Federal Government of Canada and the Province of Nova Scotia on investment programs for the development of environmental technology in Atlantic Canada. Paul launched the Technology Partnerships Canada Program which was the predecessor to today’s Strategic Innovation Fund. In addition, Paul worked for 24 years at BMO Nesbitt Burns as a Wealth Advisor.
