Sjoerd Boer is Vice President New Energies at Advario, leading the Advario New Energies team in the development, build and operation of import and export infrastructure for Hydrogen, Ammonia, CO2 and Methanol around the world.
After joining Oiltanking GmbH in 2011 (part of the Marquard & Bahls Group, a German family-owned company), holding various commercial management positions in Europe and Asia, he returned to The Netherlands in 2020 to take up the role of VP Commercial for EMEA.
In 2021 Sjoerd was appointed VP of New Energies at Advario (following the carve-out from Oiltanking GmbH) with the goal of accelerating the energy transition by generating new infrastructure projects in the new energies space.
Sjoerd holds an MSc in Fiscal Economics from Groningen University. He started his career in the consumer goods sector working in commercial and restructuring roles at Firgos Trading and The Gillette Company.
He lives in The Netherlands with his family. A firm believer that business, society and planet need to connect better to enable a zero emissions future whilst still meeting the world’s growing demand for energy, he also takes the road less travelled by to see and learn from new horizons.
