Tom Pasfield heads ADNOC’s Hydrogen business development team. He is responsible for leading new organic and inorganic blue hydrogen production projects through to construction, and for developing offtakes with hydrogen and ammonia consumers. Tom’s team also works closely with UAE’s national green hydrogen champion Masdar Green Hydrogen, a joint venture between ADNOC, TAQA and Mubadala.

Tom joined ADNOC in 2023, after spending 23 years at Shell, in commercial, business development and strategy roles globally in downstream, upstream and since 2009 in low-carbon energy. He has worked extensively on renewable power, hydrogen production/transportation and a variety of other low-carbon technologies across the energy system. Before joining Shell he worked as an offshore geophysicist and as a management consultant in the power sector.

Tom holds a master’s degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, specialising in Geosciences.
