Born on April 22, 1976 in Djibouti, H.E. Mr. Yonis Ali Guedi holds a master’s degree in Human Resources Management. Following a short period in the banking sector and within the National Education system, H.E. Mr. Yonis Ali Guedi joined the Port of Djibouti in 2000, the country’s main economic hub. After just over a decade of a very promising career, during which he ascended nearly every level, he was appointed in 2013 as Head of the Terminal Service and Support Department at the Container Terminal Directorate of the Port of Djibouti.

Fluent in multiple languages, he has also benefited during his long career from several training courses, particularly in the fields of management, predictive employment and skills management, and business English proficiency.

On April 5, 2017, H.E. Mr. Yonis Ali Guedi joined the government and took over the Ministry of Energy, responsible for Natural Resources, a key portfolio of the Djiboutian government that aims to make the Republic of Djibouti the first African country to use 100% green energy by 2035, if not earlier.
