Experience the Hydrogen Industry in Action
Experience the Hydrogen Industry in Action
The Port of Rotterdam is leading the way in developing a worldclass hydrogen hub. An integrated ecosystem is taking shape that includes hydrogen production, import, distribution, and largescale end — all being developed simultaneously. Across the port and its industrial cluster, construction is already well underway: green and blue hydrogen plants, a hydrogen backbone, multiple import terminals for various hydrogen carriers, and low-carbon hydrogen users such as trucks and barges.
The following projects are (almost) completed and are being brought into operation this year:
- Holland Hydrogen I, which in early 2026 became the first green hydrogen plant on the Maasvlakte to be connected to the Dutch national hydrogen network.
- ELYgator, currently under full construction as a major 200 MW electrolyser project moving toward its operational phase.
- the Air Products Liquefier, an integral part of Rotterdam’s hydrogen import and conversion ecosystem, included in the 2026 rollout of largescale hydrogen infrastructure in the port area.
- Porthos, the CO₂ transport and offshore storage system enabling low-carbon hydrogen production is nearing completion.
- the Delta Rhine Corridor, whose western project phase begins its procedure in 2026 and will serve as a future crossborder hydrogen and CO₂ pipeline connection; and Hynetwork, which in 2026 commissioned the first 32kilometre segment of the national hydrogen backbone in Rotterdam with its first green hydrogen fill.
Delegates will have the unique opportunity to join a guided tour through the Rotterdam Port Industrial Cluster and hear about these extensive developments firsthand. From the comfort of one of our large touring vessels — together with fellow World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition delegates — you will witness the construction of the first installations on the Hydrogen Conversion Park on the new reclaimed land Maasvlakte, the hydrogen backbone ready for operations, and the expansion of the existing ammonia terminal currently underway.
